Great article. The lack of overall morality by tech with regards to privacy in general is of great concern to consumers. Facebook has just lit the fuse and through it’s actions, or inaction for profit (not to mention blatant manipulation), escalated what has niggled at so many of us who enjoy connecting online and expressing our opinions freely. I regularly consider unplugging altogether. It just doesn’t feel safe.
(Just a teeny correction. I think you meant precedents and not presidents in the sentence “The damage is in the president it sets…”)
